Nick's Arrival

Nicholas Sullivan Upton arrived on December 12, 2010 @ 12:10. Since then he has been a perfectly happy, healthy, and wonderful little man. Mom and Dad are doing great and enjoying the honeymoon period of him being absolutely sweet and restful, except when he is hungry. We had some great visitors in the hospital who came to welcome our baby boy into the world. By the last night in the hospital, I do believe Mom was feeling better than Dad, who was laid up in her hospital bed. He has made a quick and speedy recovery and is just about the best Dad and family could ask for (I also believe he is enjoying being home from work with all of us).

The first night home, Daddy had to go on a 1 AM run to Walmart, somewhere he considers to be one of the seven layers of you know where, to get a pacifier, Mom had originally thought we might not do passies, but quickly realized a fussy unhappy baby will pretty much get whatever they want when they want it.

The pups are all doing really well with the baby and about how we expected, Hatfield has very little to do with Nick and has spent most of the time since he arrived home sleeping, but then again so has Nick. Izzy is ofcourse a little jealous, for those of you who know Izzy I am sure this comes as little surprise. Grady has assumed the role of Nana Grades, she is super protective of "her baby" she even stays up all night with whoever is taking care of Nick, we have dubbed Grady and Deenie, "the night shift."

There are new pictures posted in his picture gallery. Be sure to check them out, here is the link http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir?uname=kupton924&target=ALBUM&id=5552155820187608145&authkey=Gv1sRgCKmgubn857b6-gE&feat=email

Waiting for Nick

Today we hit the 36 week mark which means Nick is now full term. We have our hospital bag packed and are looking forward to his shower being thrown this Sunday by JoEllen Johnson, Amanda Entrekin, Leah McCraney, Lauren Wilson, and April Miller at the Botanical Gardens. As exciting as the last eight months have been it really feels like everything is taking off now! We cannot wait to meet our little man! The dogs are really excited, although Izzy is wondering why exactly someone who is not even here yet has a bigger stocking than she does...
